Several of the Lansing players stepped up to play in new positions due to injuries and it was a demonstration of versatility and determination. The game was close, and at one point, just moments before the end of the second quarter, the lights unexpectedly went out so the game stopped and the time was allocated to half time. When the circuit breaker was reset, the last few minutes of the second quarter were played then the second half immediately followed.
For Lansing , there was good defensive pressure from Kyle, Dominic, Nick, Braydon, Neal, Zach P., Logan, and Owen. Sam made a great defensive pass coverage play that kept our opponent from scoring. Mickey, Jerry, Jared, Tyler, Zach W., and the rest of the defense had several good tackles. Alec’s interception and Logan ’s defensive fumble recovery were also defensive highlights of the game.
On offense, Michael, Peter, Jerry and Alec accomplished several fine runs. Jacob, Colter, Logan , Jonathan, Neal, and Owen performed well with offensive blocking. Eric made a touchdown after a long drive from Zach D. and Jared. Jared made a touchdown after a 13 play drive from Zach D., Alec, Peter, and Eric. Peter and Zach D. had a few nice receptions. The Special Teams squad (Jonathan, Owen, and Jared) also made two, 2 point conversion kicks.
The next game is this Saturday, September 25th at 3pm at the Lansing High School. Jesse is very excited to be back with the team after being on injured reserve for two weeks.
