After an early 4-3 lead the Bobcats went on two runs, the first a 4-0 spurt then a over powering 10-0 surge, led by the outstanding serving of Junior Jada Gooch who had 5 aces among her 6 service points. Senior Amber Howser and junior Hannah Armstrong also had strong performances as the Bobcats coasted to victory.
"Jada came out strong and played very well as a starter," said second year Coach Brenda Powers. "They all did exceptionally well serving in all 3 games."
In game two the home club raced to a 7-1 advantage on the strength of great serves by juniors Hannah Armstrong, Kelsey Thomas and Keara Lowenhar, the latter who had back to back aces to build the 6 point cushion. The visiting lady Wolves had no answer for the Bobcats deep seaud, as Senior Amber Howser, Thomas, senior Amber Ryan and Junior Shalyn all contributed a combination of deep serves and aces to over power the visitors.
Game 3 was much of the same, although the teams were tied early at 4-4. An Amber Ryan block gave Lansing the lead for good and the superior serving of Senior Libero Nicole Washburn put the game out of reach to build a 16-4 lead. For the three games the Bobcats tallied an amazing 26 ace's and 26 kills.
The Bobcat JV squad also had a winning night, taking a 2 games to one victory over Union Springs, winning the 3rd game rubber match 25-16.
Next up for the 2nd place Bobcats two crucial back to back IAC contests with third place Dryden on Thursday
(20th) and the much anticipated rematch with Undefeated Trumansburg on Friday (21st) at T-burg.
