'Between The Lines', 1160 ESPN Radio's (WPIE-AM) locally-produced talk show highlighting local and regional sports, recently received the most “Outstanding On-Air Broadcast Personality or Team” award by the New York State Broadcasters Association. The statewide recognition for hosts Matt Schultz and Eric Silverman is part of the Association's annual 'Awards For Excellence in Broadcasting'.

The program focuses on local and regional sports, and can be heard weekdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm on 1160 ESPN WPIE-AM and www.1160ESPN.com .


The station was also recognized for 'Outstanding Local Sporting Event' for Nick Karski’s play-by-play call of the 2013 Moravia/Glens Falls Boys Basketball NYS Semi-final game and was one of over 70 high school games the station broadcast during the 2012-13 school year.

1160 ESPN Ithaca competed against stations in similar size markets across New York, and in a variety of formats for the recognition. 1160 ESPN was the only radio station to be recognized from the Ithaca area.
