“This exhibition is a fun and exciting way to uncover the fundamental principles of flight,” said Charlie Trautmann, executive director of the Sciencenter. “We invite everyone to come and make their own discoveries about lift, thrust, drag, rotation and gravity as they play.”

“Take Flight” has several interactive stations including a “Hover Port,” “Rocket Launcher” and “Paper Airplane Launcher.” At the “Hover Port,” visitors can manipulate an air stream to change the direction and speed of personalized flyers, and alter the center of gravity to make the flyers hover. Families can learn about the Coandă effect by playing with a water stream passing over a variety of surfaces at the “Go With the Flow” exhibit, and watch mankind's quest for flight unfold at the “Evolution of Flight” DVD kiosk. “Take Flight” was developed by ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, in Ashland, OR.
