Despite snow and an accident that stopped traffic near the Lansing schools, a good crowd showed up for the opening of a new art show at the Lansing Community Library Center Wednesday.  The show featured photographs by Matthew P. Binkewicz, and microscopic imagery from IMR Test Labs, both of Lansing. IMR CEO Steve Ruoff was on hand along with Binkewicz to talk about their work.

Binkewicz displayed photographs of Lansing including Ludlowville, and Ithaca.  Images included Ludlowville Falls, the Myers light house, and the old Ludlowville school.  Framed photos and photo note cards were on sale, with part of the proceeds donated to LCLC.

IMR Test Labs conducts a myriad of chemical and other testing, viewing substances under the microscope every day.  The abstract photos they displayed are microscopic views of materials that are actually used to identify substances during testing.  But they also provide pleasing images that are surprising, especially considering the form of the substances we are accustomed to seeing in everyday life.

The exhibit is the latest of a series of displays in LCLC's basement gallery overseen by Janice Hagstrom.  It will continue through December 14.
