ImageLansing's Wrestling Team opened up competition at state powerhouse Waverly on December 4th. Although we ended up losing, standout perfomances were turned in by Joe Jimenez, Kyle Dake, Jon Fenner, Ryan Todd,and Jon Glennon. Glennon  wrestled returning State Place winner Chris Nocchi, and lost 5-2,but gained valuable experience in the process.
 
The 5th and 6th, we wrestled at the 46th annual Clyde Cole  Tournament in Oxford.  Five Bobcats placed in the top 6.  Sean Eastman placed 6th at 130, Joe Jimenez, 2nd at 125.  Kyle Dake, 1st at 140.  Jon Glennon,1st at 189 and finally Ryan Todd 2nd at 215. This resulted in a solid 7th place finish.

On Saturday th 13th, the wrestlers competed at the Chenango Valley Duals.  The Cats went 3-2, beating Binghamton, Delhi, and IAC foe Southern Cayuga.  The teams 2 losses were to Tournament Champ BG-A and host Chenango Valley. Corey Dake, Kyle Dake, and Jon Glennon each went 5-0.  Corey pinned all of his opponents.  Outstanding Wrestling honors went to Kyle Dake, Kyle beat BG-A's retuning state place winner, Victor Coronado 8-1.  Other good performances included John Oblinski, and Sean Eastman each going 4-1 on the day.

Last night Wednesday the 17th, the team took on wrestling Rival Newark Valley in a IAC match up.  Newark Valley bested the Bobcats 42-28.  Lansing had some bright spots, however, The Dake brothers remained undefeated each registering pins.  Also winning by fall were Joe Jimenez, and Jon Glennon. Sean Eastman had a major decision, rounding out Lansing's scoring.  Sean, Jesse Bush, and Jon Fenner all wrestled their best matches of the season. Jesse and Jon each came up 1 point short in tough losses.

Lansing will take on Candor on Monday the 22nd at 1:00 pm at Lansing.
