Listeners will have the opportunity to call in every hour to bid on packages that includes a $200 gift certificate to a local restaurant, as well as a case of wine or craft beer from world-renowned wineries and breweries in the Finger Lakes. Last year's radiothon raised $5,350.00 for the United Way of Tompkins County.
In this year's radiothon, Lee, host of the Morning Newswatch, weekdays from 5:30-9AM on WHCU, will also speak with local leaders about the impact the United Way has on individuals and families in Tompkins County. All proceeds from the 12-hour radiothon will go to the United Way's efforts to help people meet their immediate, basic needs while empowering lasting change by strengthening the three building blocks for a good life: education, income, and health.
