"In the increasingly competitive and technology-driven world of college admissions, Ms. Zuber brings critical experience and expertise to the table that will serve Wells College extremely well in the coming years. She is a dynamic professional with proven leadership in directing admissions operations both at the graduate and undergraduate levels," President Gibralter said in announcing the hire.
Ms. Zuber has served as Assistant Dean of the Graduate School at Binghamton University since 2012, where she has been responsible for a 20-person team charged with enrolling 3,400+ graduate students in over 90 academic programs. She has developed institutional recruitment plans, supervised staff and coordinated travel while identifying new and emerging markets for student recruitment. She has collaborated with the Divisions of Academic Affairs and Marketing working with in-person, web-based and social media campaigns to build graduate enrollment.
Prior to her time at Binghamton, Ms. Zuber served as Web Operations Manager and Electronic Media Coordinator for the Division of Enrollment Services at Delhi College from 2009-2012. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Director and Coordinator of the Campus Visitation program at Binghamton University for undergraduate admissions, where she managed on-campus visitation programs for over 30,000 prospective undergraduate visitors annually. From 2003-05 she also served as assistant coach for Binghamton University's NCAA Division I women's volleyball team.
Ms. Zuber earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and her Master of Arts in Social Science with a concentration in Student Affairs and Diversity from Binghamton University.
Ms. Zuber succeeds Susan Raith Sloan, who had served as the College's Director of Admissions and Financial Aid since 1995. An alumna of Wells College with the class of 1986, Ms. Sloan returned to Wells in 1989 to serve as Assistant Director and then Associate Director of Admissions, before becoming Director of Admissions in 1995, and later assuming responsibility for Financial Aid.
"During her time at Wells, Susan developed and implemented admission strategies to support recruitment during some of the very best of times and some of the most difficult," said President Gibralter in acknowledging Ms. Sloan for providing "steadfast guidance to our admissions efforts over these last several decades."
