Andrea Conlon and Cole Rourke visited Monday's Board of Education meeting to show pictures and tell about their recent trip to Costa Rica. Accompanied by Spanish teacher Nancy Gardner and Principal Michelle Stone, they hiked in the rain forest at La Paz, shopped, viewed Monte Verde, and walked the suspended bridges in the Cloud Forest.

In the Cloud Forest the group toured the suspended bridges. Hung high in the forest canopy, they bring you closer to the tree tops where you can get a better perspective of the forest and see birds that inhabit the upper part of the trees. They also tried zip line cables, where they hung from a handle on a pulley and slid along a cable. Gardner seemed a bit shaken by the experience, but glad she had done it.

Rourke reported, "Surprisingly in Costa Rica everything tastes sweeter." She also said that they used their Spanish as much as possible while they were there, and learned about biology and history as well.
The tour finished at Jaco Beach. One picture showed a man displaying a large crocodile. They saw teenagers perform traditional Costa Rican dances at their farewell dinner.
