The CDC is a not-for-profit organization whose sole purpose is to support and further the educational opportunities of Lansing students by providing equipment and technology.
The CDC has raised approximately $400,000 over the past 14 years for educational investments at the Lansing Central School District. Examples of past educational donations include:
- 'Project Lead the Way' Lab, 26 computers, furniture, robotics kits and AutoCAD software for the Technology Education Program, Middle School
- 6 Activboards and 25 ActivExpressions Devices by Promethean, the leader in interactive whiteboards for the active classroom. All LCSD Schools
- 25 Heart Rate Monitors for the Physical Education Department, High School
- Computer Animation Software for the Art Program, Middle School
- Piano with built-in CD and recorder for Chorus Room, Middle School
- 3 Scholarships in memory of Robb Cutting to a graduating Senior pursing a career or studies in technology
- and more
Project Lead the Way is one program investment and funding activity that is benefiting the Lansing Middle School.
- Project Lead the Way was introduced into the Middle School curriculum this school year, 2010-2011.
- Funds for Project Lead the Way were raised and donated by the CDC and the greater Lansing business community.
- This project has CDC and business sponsors support for 5 years, or through the 2015-2016 school year.
Lansing’s Superintendent Stephen Grimm, Jamie Thomas, and Nicole Lamie provided a recap of the PLTW milestones achieved with the Middle School this year, shared the program launch plan for the High School this fall, and showed robotics and automation videos and 3-D models of the work completed by 8th graders this year.
“By all standards, the Project Lead The Way program was an astounding success and we are looking forward to a stellar 2011-2012 school year,” said Middle School Tech Instructor Nicole Lamie.
