Aurora, N.Y. – Wells College faculty, staff and students wore red on Friday, February 3 in support of National Wear Red Day as part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. Go Red for Women was created in 2004 to inform women about the risks of heart disease and how to be proactive in their heart health. The College’s president, Lisa Marsh Ryerson, serves on the Executive Leadership team for the Go Red for Women Movement of Syracuse, N.Y.

Wells College campus is regularly alive with red sports jerseys and sweats bearing the Wells College red logo, but on Friday there was a more lively appearance of Wells College red clothing and school spirit in support of National Wear Red Day. The College also took part in the Wear Red Day Challenge competition and submitted a group photo with Wells faculty, staff and students sporting their red attire.

You can vote for Wells College in the challenge by liking their photo in the category of Most Spirited Go Red Group Photo on the Wear Red Day Challenge tab on the Go Red for Women’s Facebook page. The winners for each of the 13 Wear Red Day award categories will be announced on Go Red for Women’s Facebook and Web site on February 25.
