Tompkins County Area Development (TCAD) kicked off its Advance Tompkins Investment Initiative Tuesday morning, unveiling its five-year plan for economic prosperity in Tompkins County and an investment goal of $1,907,185.
Advance Tompkins Investment Initiative Co-Chairs:
- John Rudd, President & CEO of Cayuga Medical Center & Cayuga Health Systems
- Dr. Luvelle Brown, Superintendent of Schools for Ithaca City School District
- Robert Sprole, III, President and CEO of Therm, Incorporated
- Julie Crowley, President of Triphammer Wines & Spirits and Ithaca Coffee Company
The Co-chairs spoke about the tremendous work TCAD does to ensure business and employment growth. Nick Nickitas, founder and CEO of Rosie Applications spoke about how TCAD's early assistance and support were integral to accelerating the growth of his company. "Nick, and Rosie, embody the mission and vision of TCAD," said TCAD president, Heather McDaniel.
The Investment Initiative will support TCAD’s work in five key areas:

Workforce Development
Business Retention and Expansion
Business Attraction
Community Awareness
73% of the $1,907,185 investment goal has been reached. Forty-one businesses have already pledged a five-year investment in TCAD, signaling their support for the work TCAD does to create quality jobs and stimulate capital investment.
