tops120Williamsville, N.Y. – Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania, announced today that it’s removing from store shelves Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread due to the possible health risk of Salmonella.   The recall includes Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread; however, Tops Markets does not carry that particular variety.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). No other Skippy products are affected by this recall.

The affected product, which is packaged in 16.3 oz plastic jars, is as follows:
  • UPC: 048001006812 (located on the side of the jar’s label below the bar code.)
