In the spring Cornell dance faculty member Byron Suber collaborates with fellow department faculty members Jumay Chu and Beth Milles as well as Cornell students to present an original work interpreting their summer 2007 collective experiences in Rome, Italy. Local artists Jennie Stearns and Mary Lorson lend their talents to discovering the value of inserting classical criteria into modernist impulses. Spoglia: Dance Concert 2008 will be performed March 6-9.

The dance series concludes with two performances by international touring troupe Stephen Petronio Company. Called "New York's bad boy of dance," Petronio uses new music, visual art and fashion to produce powerfully modern landscapes for the senses. Known for his collaborations with famous artists, Petronio created the pieces to be performed at Cornell, Bloom and Bud Suite, with the hip young composer Rufus Wainwright.
