AT THIS POINT IN TIME:  I paid attention in school, and I remember that space has points, not time.  Time may be a dimension, but we perceive it as always flowing, and its points are strictly theoretical.

Consequently, whenever a patient at the Institute for the Linguistically Impaired says, "at this point in time," I reply, "Show me this point."

You may think it un-PC to treat patients this way, but we must shock them into listening to what falls out of their own mouths.  And I must admit, their expression of confusion at my challenge always makes my day.

Of course, they should be saying at this time, or better yet, now.

I join with Dr. Glibb in asking readers to support our Edwin Newman Clinic for Temporal Retentives.
