IN SIDE CAR: Compounding words correctly makes a big difference.  After work at the Institute for the Linguistically Impaired, my colleague Dr. Saber S. Poder couldn't wait to show me what she had bought for her car.  A pair of deer whistles.  Well, of course, they weren't called deer whistles.  Oh, no.  Animal Saver System, if you please.

I enjoyed that, but Dot directed me to a line father down on the package:  "Animals in side car are not affected."

We laughed for days as we advanced new theories as to possible meanings.
