Aurora, New York – An eclectic mix of art will be on display in Wells College’s String Room Gallery from January 4 – 27, 2011. Artwork produced by Southern Cayuga County Schools students will be shown. This annual student art exhibition is free, and the public is cordially invited to view the show. An opening reception with refreshments held Tuesday, January 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. offers an opportunity to meet the organizing teachers and view and discuss the work. More than 50 students are exhibiting their work this winter. Media represented include ceramic pottery and sculpture, paintings, drawings, prints, book arts, and digital images. Art teachers Peter Bakija, Tim Amory, Jaqueline Webster, and Louisa Cushman guided and instructed the students through the last year; they oversaw the students’ work in the studios and installed the show.
The String Room Gallery is located in the southwest corner, on the first floor of Main Building. Hours are Monday through Friday 12 – 5 pm.
