Hastings' show contains a variety of works and features sculptures which reflect the moment when change is apparent. Metaphorically these works represent environmental issues which can be traced to human action or reaction. Change is inevitable and futility abounds. They are not meant to critique specific events but stir reflection on the environment and the role we play.
Hastings lives and works in Ithaca, New York. He is an educator, artist, antique dealer, gardener, designer and co-owner of FOUND. Bill is an Assistant Professor at Ithaca College where he teaches sculpture, drawing and design. Nature and the environment have been central to his being, from growing up in the Catskills, having strong family connections to the Adirondacks and establishing home and family in the Fingerlakes.
