"A well-funded, well-maintained transportation infrastructure is critical for the safety and well-being of our residents and helps to create economic growth and opportunity in New York State," said Nozzolio. "As State Senator, I have continued my aggressive efforts to support the funding needed to keep our local roads, bridges and highways safe."
"This investment into our State's infrastructure is essential and will allow local municipalities to make much needed road improvements to our highways without having to raise additional taxes on taxpayers," continued Nozzolio.
The Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) provides State funds to municipalities to support the construction and repair of highways, bridges, highway-railroad crossings, and other facilities that are not on the State highway system.
"It is essential that we continue to make necessary investments in New York's transportation network. This significant funding will help ensure the safety of our drivers and expand our ability to support the local economy and to create jobs in the Finger Lakes Region," concluded Nozzolio.
