Born May 31, 1923, in Weedsport, NY, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Ada (Rodgers) Baker and was a 1943 graduate of Weedsport Central School. On July 3, 1944, Clarice was married to Kirk "John" Hoag, whom she met on a date arranged by their siblings. Shortly after marriage, they moved to Lansing where they settled in and raised their family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Clarice's family was her passion and priority in life. She was a wonderful homemaker, a longtime member of Lansing United Methodist Church, a 4-H leader and she babysat for many children in Lansing. She also worked as a Teacher's Aide and at Rothchild's Department Store during Christmas season. Clarice struggled with Parkinson's Disease for 25 years, but was fortunate to remain at home with the love and care of her husband and family.
In addition to her parents, Clarice was preceded in death by her twin bother, Claire Baker; brother, Leon Baker; sisters, Winifred Halstead, Barbara Baker and Harriett Baker Kiowski.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Kirk J. Hoag; her children, Linda Parker (Sherwin DiSanto) of Lansing, Betty (Harlan) Redder of Lansing, Gerald (Joann) Hoag of Virginia, Susan (Randy) Bowman of Lansing, Janet Hoag of Groton and Jane Hoag of Lansing; Grandchildren, Amy (Randy) Lattin, Matthew Hoag, Tonia Hoag (Ricky), Sarah (Ben) Landry, Jon (Kimberly Jetty) Bowman , Julie (James) Hatfield, Cathleen Eastman (Ben), Robin (Dan) Austin, Casie (Nick) Smith, Kelley Collins (Dan), Christopher Inman (Jessica), Jesse Bush and Lauri Bush; Great grandchildren, Keegan and Kaylynn Lattin, Easton Landon, Bryce Eastman and Garrett Austin, Haley and Kendal Collins.
Clarice is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Fehr; brothers, Wilbur (Mary) Baker and Gaynard Baker.
