James Alden Brown, age 86 of Ithaca, entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Cayuga Medical Center. Jim was born in Mincar, West Virginia, the son of the late Lola Marie and Russell Brown. He retired from Borg Warner after 35 years of service. While living in West Virginia, he worked as a coal miner. He was a lifetime member of Forest City Lodge #180, a member of Henry Highland Garnet Masonic Lodge #40 and a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Louise Harris and Jennifer Brown; two sons, Alden Brown and Gregory (Susun Marie White) Brown; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mildred Burrs and Gladys Royster; two adopted sisters, Eula Brown and Willie Mae Brown; two close special friends, Sally Lee and Pam Jenkins-Smiley; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by six brothers, Russell, Charles, Robert, William, Donald, Cline Brown; a sister, Helen Grey.

Friends and family may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Calvary Baptist Church 507 North Albany Street, Ithaca. Burial with full military honors will be in South Hill Cemetery in the spring. If desired, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
