Many jobs are seen as political and it's hard to separate them out when you're in a presidential year, but when it comes to Town Clerk, we as Democrats must separate out the politics since politics is not what the Town Clerk is about. That's why we are supporting Debbie Munson in this year's election.Debbie doesn't set policy in this job. That's the purview of the Town Board. Her job is to serve all the people equally, and she's proven that time and again. Her job is to make government run efficiently which she's shown through initiatives such as the town now accepting credit cards for payments.
We want someone who is a vibrant member of the community. Looking at her Facebook page, you know she's been everywhere recently, but she's always been that involved in Lansing, whether it's helping out at her church, helping her sons' sporting events, helping 4-H, or helping feed the hungry.
We want someone honest, someone truthful, someone we can count on as our Town Clerk. We want Debbie Munson.
