Sadly the Lansing Town Board and Planning Board have attempted to shutdown input from Town residents when concerns have been raised about scattered development, lack of appropriate Town studies of traffic volumes, etc., questions about access to proposed developments by fire and emergency vehicles, and sewage processing for high-density development proposals.

Neighbors who attended a Planning Board meeting about a nearby proposed development raised concerns about traffic on North Triphammer Road and were told by a Planning Board member to "Suck it up and get over it."

In all my years in elected office for the Village of Lansing, I do not ever recall taxpayers' concerns being addressed in such a fashion! November 7 is the date we will put a reasoned approach to government and openness to the concerns of Town residents on the Lansing Town Board by electing Joseph Wetmore and Walaa Maharem-Horan.
