mailmanDryden Rail Trail Task Force has been in existence for only about 14 months. Many thanks are due to Bob Beck and Bruno Schickel, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Rail Task Force. They have been very effectively leading a diverse group of people with a very simple goal in mind: Get 10 1/2 miles of Rail Trail built.

Bruno Schickel played an important role in speaking with landowners to acquire easements. He has also been instrumental in organizing the work and raising donations to actually do the work on the section between Dryden and Freeville.

Many thanks to Mix Brothers, S&S Tree Services, JEY Contracting, RMS Gravel and The William George Agency for their generous donations. Over $45,000 of materials and services brought this community project to a successful completion.

Also thanks to the 30 - 40 volunteers for their hard work clearing the trail. The path is now ready and is being used by many people who are exploring the beauty of this rural trail.

Bruno is just the sort of energetic and hands-on, jump-right-in kind of guy we need to lead Dryden. That's why I'm voting for Schickel, Osmeloski and Scutt on November 7th.
