Dear Editor:

As a former litigator I’m deeply dismayed to see letters to the editor where a small portion of local attorneys endorse a judicial candidate.  It is unfortunate that lawyers who may receive assignments, fees, or otherwise appear before the judge were convinced by the campaign to climb this ethically slippery slope.
