Lansing's Boys Basketball Team Played Newark Valley Friday night and won 76-50. The boys played great defense and held Newark Valley to 11 first half points. Teagan Barresi led all scorers with 27 points. Will Opperman played a great game as he chipped in 15 points. Charlie Hatfield had a great game on the boards. With this win Lansing moved to 12-1 and 6-0 in their division.Saturday night the boys hosted Watkins Glen. Lansing had beaten Watkins by 12 point a week ago but this time Watkins hung tough. Lansing got out to a good start as they were led by Brian Milliman and Tyler Fleming. Milliman had 10 first half points and Fleming knocked down 2 three pointers. At the half Lansing led 26-14.
Watkins would come back as they cut the lead in half at the end of the third quarter and then had the ball down 4 late in the game. Lansing's defense hung tough and was able to get stops when they needed. Lansing won 42-34 and moved to 13-1 on the year. Lanisng will play Dryden on Saturday night at home, JV game starting at 5:00 This will be Hall of Fame night as the Lansing Athletic Hall of Fame will recognize it's honorees at the end of the JV game.
