The boys cross country team walked away with first place in their division at the Elmira Invitational on Saturday, September 13th. Elmira hosted over 20 teams from central New York. Lansing ran their varsity team with only 6 runners and still managed to win with a team total of 143 points.

Jon Cleveland and Josh Barber placed within the top twenty runners and each received medals. Shanna Swanson also medaled for the girls, running well on one of the most difficult courses in the area.

On Tuesday both boys and girls teams performed personal best times at Fillmore Glen’s Golf Course in Moravia. Josh Barber placed second with a time of 18:40 followed by Cleveland, Davis, Wigsten, Hicks and Shea – all within the top 8 finishers. Shanna Swanson was 2nd and Neila Thomas took 7th with a time of 28:12.
The team travels to Watkins Glen next Tuesday.
