ImageDuring the Feb. 7-8 weekend, the 12U, 14U and 19U Ithaca Shooting Stars girls hockey teams were active.  The 12Us defeated the Monroe County Eagles 12Us 3-1 and tied the New Hartford girls 1-1 while the 14Us tied an IYHA PeeWee Snowbelt team 7-7 and the 19Us had three losses against teams in the Capital Region.

Against Monroe, Paige Johnson scored two goals while Sacha Rady scored one. Johnson scored the single goal against New Hartford in a game when Ithaca outshot the opponent three to one.  Caitlin Whittaker made 28 saves in the two contests.

In the high scoring tie game with the IYHA PeeWees, Grace Ulinski, Bridget Derraugh and Rachel Brock each had two goals and one assist.  Zsofi Szegletes also scored.  Additional assists were awarded to Clara Karastury and Sophia Hunt.  LT Furman shared goaltending with Whittaker of the 12U team; they combined for 18 saves.

The Ithaca 19U team was shutout against the Adirondack Northstars 19Us, 0-3 and 0-2 and the Troy Albany Ice Cats 19U Tier 1 team 0-2.  Against Adirondack, two of the goals were empty net ones and one was a penalty shot.  Sarah Eisenhut made 50 saves in the two games, and the offense produced over 60 shots. She made another 33 saves in the third game of the two days vs. Troy.
