ImageThe Lansing Modified Baseball team finished up their season on Monday by defeating Trumansburg 24-0 in a rain shortened five inning game.  Sam Currie tossed the complete game shutout and a total team effort at the plate led to the team's largest run production of the season.  The win caps an undefeated season for the team (13-0), which bodes well for the future of Lansing Baseball.

The team was led throughout the season in pitching by Currie, Troy Osterman, Nate McIntosh, Alex Schutz, and Mason Carrican.  A cast of talented hitters aided the pitching efforts and were led by Currie, Schutz, Osterman, McIntosh, Greg Lehr, Clinton Herzog, Luke Mehringer, Ben Rourke, Zach Steiner, and Tucker Uhrovick.

Also to be noted were the fine defensive efforts of Lehr and Rourke behind the plate, and fielders Currie, Osterman, Schutz, Uhrovick, and Andrew Maul.  To win at the Modified Baseball level though it takes a total team effort, and the younger players on the team more than held up their end of the bargain being able to step in and step up each night both in games as well as at practice.

A strong cast will return from these ranks next year to secure another successful season for sure.  Lansing has a lot to be proud of in this fine group of young players who will continue to work hard to achieve even greater success as they move up the ladder.
