ImageThe Lansing Babe Ruth baseball team beat South Seneca for the League Championship at Ithaca College’s Freeman Field on July 30.  The score was 3-0.  The team has 8 wins, 3 losses, and one tie for the season.

In the 4th inning the team made a double play to end the inning, with the ball hit to centerfielder J. D. McKane, who caught it and threw the ball to 1st baseman Sam Currie to get out the runner returning to 1st.  The ball was hit to SS Troy Osterman who flipped it to 2nd baseman Ellington Hopkins to get the final out of the game.  Ellington Hopkins scored a stand-up triple in 6th inning to seal the win.

Starting Pitcher Ben Parkes pitched 5 innings and then Kyle Milliman finished pitching the last 2 innings.  Parkes had 5 strikeouts, Milliman had 3 strikeouts. Sean Streb, Ben  Parkes had RBIs, and singles were hit by Ben Parkes and Kyle Milliman.

The Lansing team, led by Coach Doug Milliman includes Kyle Milliman, Damien Landon, Troy Osterman, Nate McIntosh, Mason Golden, Brandon Emerick, Ellington Hopkins, Travis Smith, Brandon Swearingen, J. D. McKane, Mario Rosetti, Brandon Pollack, Greg Lehr, Sean Streb, Ben Parkes, and Sam Currie.
