ImageLansing dominated its first game of the season, 25-9, after solid serving by seniors Kristen Beyea and Nicolo Gentile reversed an early Moravia lead on September 3rd.  The Bobcats’ decisive five- and 11-point runs were punctuated by the first three of junior Tara Miller’s four kills.

Teamwork picked up as the match progressed, though several dropped balls showed the new line-up is still working out its kinks.  Lansing sustained its lead throughout game two and faltered only briefly in game three, winning 25-14 and 25-16.  Senior Taylor Bandler contributed three aces and four assists, Sunah Bong several digs, and Beyea three kills and a block.

Senior co-captains Tory Cutting and Kari Fenner showed their versatility, marked by Cutting’s three aces, assist and four kills.  Junior Breanna Brann made her sets count with three assists, and sophomores Amber Howser and Blair Wigsten each pitched in a kill in their varsity debuts.

The next home game is Friday September 19 against Groton.
