The Lansing Boys Soccer team is currently 7-0. The boys have posted great wins over league rivals Marathon and most recently Trumansburg.
In the Trumansburg game Lansing came out with a strong first half. Fernando Nunez scored on a follow-up goal 2 minutes into the game. Senior Captain Joe Skeps fired a shot from the left side and caromed off the post to Nunez who put it in. Skeps was more then involved in the second goal as well. He took a 20 yard restart and drove it home on a hard driven shot.
Lansing continued to pressure throughout the first half and Harrison Herzog released a long ball to Anthony Fiorille who sprinted in on goal and finished a long shot to the corner. Lansing still was not done as Freshmen Ethan Kutler found Joe Skeps in the box for the 4th goal.
In the second half Trumansburg picked up the intensity and the bobcats played a bit sloppy but controlled the play. Lansing's 5th goal started with Matt Loring who found Senior Nick Geisler who played a perfect ball to Fiorille who finished the one on one chance. Trumansburg did strike late in the game to end the score at 5-1. Lansing's defense played well as Senior Justin Kirkwood marked Trumansburg forward Brennan Edmonds most of the game and did an outstanding job on him.
Lansing will be back in action against league rival Dryden, home on Tuesday night 7:00pm.
