Once again the Cross Country teams headed south. This time the destination was Newark Valley and again they made sure the trip was worth it. In an IAC dual meet against defending Class C IAC champions Newark Valley, along with Tioga, Edison and Spencer VanEtten both the boys and girls Cross Country teams took 2nd.

For the boys Jon Cleveland (Sr) placed 2nd with a time of 17:15 and just 5 seconds behind him Josh Barber (Sr) captured third with a personal record (PR) time of 17:20. Also scoring for the boys were Luke Davis (Sr) in 10th place with a PR time of 18:47, George Wigsten (Sr) in 15th place with a PR time of 19:18, and Eddy Potter (Sr) in 18th place with a PR time of 19:33.

Scoring for the girls were Kathryn Shaw (Jr) in 5th with a time of21:30, Chloe Ryan (Sr) in 10th with a time of 22:38 and Shanna Swanson(So) in 11th also with a PR time of 22:38, Casey Phlegar in 20th with atime of 25:04 and 8th grader Emily Rasmussen competing with the varsityteam placing 26th with a time of 27:03, knocking over one minute off ofher previous time.

Participants for the Modified team where Alex Ward (2nd), ShaneHradisky(16th) in a field of 29 athletes, and Emary Iacobucci (13th ),Annie Reynolds (7th ), Rebekah Shea (23rd). Next Tuesday the teamstravel to Waverly for another dual meet against Waverly and Trumansburg.
