The second race of this season's Youth Cross Country Race Series took place at the Town of Lansing's ballfield complex. This was the second year of the race at this location and over 35 runners participated this year. The event included 7 & 8 year olds in the 2K event and runners ages 9-13 in the 3K event.Some of the top runners were: (7&8)- Alexander Simpson, Luke Taylor, Holden Lazarus, Elliot Walsh, Benjamin Silbert, Ben Supron, George Murphy-Wilkins, Christy Sinclair, Jack Yahn, Aiden Begeal, Jamie Barnett-Hill, Saige Jackson (9&10)- Luke Field, Ethan Buchanan, John Rogers, Neil Kolhatkar, Nick Supron, William Jung, Sri Osika, Ellen Miller, Mikaela Garcia, Leigh Miller, Inbal Grossman, Johnathon DeForrest. (11-13)- John Weswig, Niall Hodges, Jason Yahn, Zach Field, Emily Rasmussen, Mercedes Astarita, Shane Hradisky, Ryan Buchanan, Noah Chase, Jake Barnett-Hill.
All of the runners ran great races completing the courses and displayed great sportsmanship in doing so.
The 3rd race of the series takes place this Saturday October 17th at the Groton Elementary School. The 4th and final race of the series will take place on Saturday October 24th at lower Buttermilk Falls State Park in Ithaca.
All races are free and open to any boys and girls.
