The XC team has come a long way in the past year. Not only have they been acknowledged repeatedly for excellent sportsmanship, they were also recognized for their amazing team talent that earned both the boys and girls the title of IAC Division II Champions Tuesday night at Groton's Stonehedges Golf Course.

Both teams took first over Moravia, Trumansburg, Groton and Southern Springs; the girls scoring 25 followed by the boys at 26 points. The girls took turns taking the lead the entire race, but it was senior Chloe Ryan who dominated the course in the final 300 meters finishing 2nd for the Bobcats (20:37) followed by Shanna Swanson (21:07), Kathryn Shaw (21:25), Casey Phlegar ( PR of 23:20) and 8th grader Emily Rasmussen (25:07). Ryan, Swanson and Shaw were also given awards for Division II First Team All Stars.

For the boys, Jon Cleveland (17:00) took a strong lead for most of the race putting over 20 seconds between himself and second place teammate Josh Barber (17:22). George Wigsten ran a PR of 18:28, followed by Luke Davis (18:33), Eddy Potter (18:39), Dan Comisi (19:42), and Michael Cree (20:33) Both Alex Rogers and Tom Alexander also set personal records of 19:58 and 22:50 respectively. Cleveland, Barber and Wigsten were named Division II First Team All Stars as well.

 

The teams head to Whitney Point on Tuesday, October 20th for an invitational to begin at 4:30 for Modified followed by Varsity boys at 5:00 and Varsity girls at 5:30.
