ImageThe Girls Varsity Basketball team raised their record to 16-0 following their 54-22 win at Whitney Point last Friday and their 67-15 home win over Moravia on Tuesday.  At Whitney Point Ellyn Grant-Keane led the way with 15 points, while Jocelyn Ford added 14 points.  MC Barrett chipped in with 9 points, Stephanie Gonyea had 6 points, Colby McCartney had 5 points, Shanne Shaff had 3 points and Nina Lindberg had 2 points.

The team led 20-2 after a near perfect 1st quarter, where they did not turn the ball over and had 6 assists on their 9 first quarter baskets.

On Senior night where the Ladycats honored their 5 seniors, Kelsey Redmond, Lydia Warkentin, Stephanie Gonyea, Ellyn Grant-Keane and MC Barrett, the team once again came out strong with a 22-1 lead after one quarter.  Jocelyn Ford, with a double double, led a balanced scoring attack with 19 points and a team high 12 rebounds, while MC Barrett had 12 points, Stephanie Gonyea had 11 points, Colby McCartney had 10 points and Ellyn Grant-Keane had 9 points and a team high 8 assists and 5 steals.  Shanna Shaff chipped in with 4 points and Nina Lindberg had 2 points.

The Ladycats finish their regular season Friday at Trumansburg, then they will play Watkins Glen for the IAC Large School Championship, Friday February 19th at 6:00 at TC3, followed by the Lansing Boys Basketball team taking on Elmira Notre Dame for the Boys Championship.
