ImageThe IAC Bowling Championship was held at Valley Bowl Last Saturday.  With 30 of the 32 lanes full of high school bowlers, what a day it was!

On the Girls side Waverly won the Championship and Marathon came in second followed by Watkins Glen & TAE. 20 awards were handed out with some very good bowling as Lansing's Ashley Flemming (474) received an award for the 17th postion.

On the boys side there was a race as the action came down to the last bowler before Groton was finally crowned the winner. The Lansing boys rolled out of the gate in a battle from the start with Groton, Newark Valley and Waverly, all teams were very close and in the second game Warverly's Fred Miller rolls a perfect 300 game (and he's only a 9th grader). End of the second game it still anyone's match as all four teams continue to battle and it all came down to the very end as Groton edged Newark Valley for the crown.

As the top twenty awards were handed out the Lansing boys received four, Matt Tucci (599), Troy Hradisky(631), Trever Rounds(652) & Harrison Herzog (655). All division winners were crowned on this day with Groton (boys) & Marathon (girls) taking the small school crowns & Newark Valley (boys) & Waverly (girls) taking the large school crowns. All teams will see action the next weekend at Sectionals at Mid-Way Lanes in Vestal. All in all it was a great day for our athletics.
