At the start of this season I knew it would be a very competitive season for our boys team. At the end of regular league, Newark Valley won the division, Waverly was second by two points and Lansing was third by four points - a very close race. Even though we came in third the boys team bowled well and took points away from the top two teams during match to match play.
Ending with the IAC tournament we took 4th place out of 11 teams and then at Sectionals we placed 9th out of 16 teams. The IAC league had about 90 boys bowling and Lansing had 4 in the top 20. Harry Herzog tied for 10th place with a 194 average, Trever Rounds was 14th with a 188 average, Tim Carlson was 17th with a 182 average and Troy Hradsky was 20th with a 175 average.
I had several good bowlers I relied during the season, depending on who and where we bowled. They were Mike Bradford, Matt Tucci, Nick Geisler and Joel Teitelbaum. We gained a lot of experience over this season and look to be even more competitive next season with several members returning.

This season was a rebuilding year for the Lansing Girls team. With two returning seniors, Ashley Fleming and Katy Bland, there were several sophomores who got the chance to bowl and gain valuable experience. The girls finished fourth in the IAC division and along the way not only took points but learned to bowl competitively.
At the IAC they placed 8th out of 11 teams and at sectionals a good showing of seventh out of 14 teams. During sectionals Katy Bland and Vanessa Corey each bowled her first 200 game. Vanessa received a silver medal for her 212. With about 80 girls bowling in the IAC two girls finished in the top half. Ashley Fleming was 17th with a 155 average and Katy Bland was 39th with a 132 average. The majority of the team will be back and plan on being much more competitive.
I am proud of both Boys and Girls teams bowling and sportsmanship during all competition.
