ImageLansing Varsity Softball Team played one its best games under Coach Randy Randall on Monday. Nikki Arcangeli pitched her first 2-hit shutout going the distance with a 7-0 win against a tough Union Springs team. Lansings' defense was "the best I've seen" of the season, Randall says.

Nina Lindberg (SS) and Kristen LaRock (2nd base) turned 2 double plays and Lansings' solid outfield performance of Kari Fenner and Abbie Lader just gave Union Springs no breathing room.

The girls played very well as a team-something Randall speaks of every year. "If we learn to play as a team-winning is a bonus!" Randall says.  "The girls realize that that will be the key ingredient to there future success. What the softball coaches here at Lansing believe, is now starting to show on the field."

The team continued its winning streak Wednesday night at Dryden. The Purple Lions came into the contest at 4-1 with Lansing close behind in the Division standings.

The Bobcats again led by there star junior pitcher Nikki Arcangeli went the distance w/no walks and 4 strikeouts and a 4-3 victory.  It was Lansings' stellar defense that kept Dryden in check the entire game only committing 1 error.

Coach Randall said all of his teams bats finally came alive with hits or key bunts by all in the starting line-up. The offense was led by Taylor Jordan,Kari Fenner and Trish Miller-all having 2 hits, but it was Taylor Policays' double to right center field that sealed the victory.  Key hits or bunts by Sarah Eisenhut,Marissa Lehr,Nikki Arcangeli,Kristen LaRock and Nina Lindberg contributed to this big win, which puts Lansing in a solid second behind a very talented Whitney Point team.
