ImageThe Lansing Varsity Softball Team took another step toward revitalizing the softball program by defeating a very good Waverly team Thursday night in their first Sectional Class B game at home 4-0.

"We have just turned another page," says Coach Randy Randall.  "The girls get all the credit for there hard work and commitment to the program. The return of an injured Nikki Arcangeli refueled the team.  I personally give props to the 2 young pitchers Kayla Green and Amber Howser for picking up the slack when Arcangeli went down 5 games ago."

"What a great opportunity for those two girls to get that kind of time at a varsity level -- hopefully they look at this as a positive," Randall says. "They will be the major battery when Nikki graduates."

In that Waverly game Sarah Eisenhut, Nina Lindberg, Nikki Arcangeli and Trisha Miller led the offense with keys hits in the 3rd inning to take that 4-0 lead and again the Lansing defense stymied the opponent with 0 errors in the contest.

"I'm very excited to bump heads with Windsor on Tuesday" Randall says.  "To get a quality opponent-a State ranked team is a win/win for our program."
