Lansing's Varsity Bowling teams challenged Waverly on 12/6 in a home game at the Helen Newman Lanes on the Cornell Campus. "My boys did not bowl all that well," says Coach Doug Volbrecht, "but came away with three points out of four." Dan Baldini earned the high score with 222/597 series, followed by Ricky Newton at 549 and Tyler Clark at 540. The girls didn't do as as well. Brittany Mainville scored 210/498 and Kristy Sullivan 167/478.
Next was an away game at Horseheads, the first "big house" tournament of the season. "This past weekend was not an easy one for any of the IAC Bowling teams," says Coach Volbrecht. Lansing finished in second place with the top three Boys teams Watkins Glen (2666), Lansing (2581) and Waverly (2511). Kyle Christopher (226/608) and John Siedman (223/577) were Lansing's top scorers. Waverly (2372), Watkins Glen (2363) and TAE (2244) were the top three girls teams in the tournament.
Wednesday night's home match against Elmira Notre Dame ended with Lansing Boys taking four points out of four rolling 2650 to 2365. Lansing's Kyle Christopher was among the high scorers with 219/576. On the girls team Kristy Sullivan (179/489) and Rachel Strolman (188/457) were Lansing's high scorers.
