This past Saturday was the NYSPHSAA Indoor Track and Field State Championship meet held at Cornell's Barton Hall. Lansing had one athlete compete. Junior Max Rogan competed in the pole vault and medalled with 4th in the State and 6th in the Federation.En route to his finish, he broke the Lansing Indoor pole vault record that he broke earlier this season two more times on Saturday and posted a best height of 14' 0". This height qualified him for the New Balance National Meet in NYC this coming weekend.
This was an excellent performance especially since the team and Max had not had a meet in exactly a month leading up to states because of weather cancellations. The Lansing Boys and Girls have begun their outdoor track and field season this week.
