"Everybody played well at certain points but we have to continue to pick up our game," said second year coach Brenda Powers. "They lost focus in the second game but came back."

The Bobcats started quickly in game one breaking a 1-1 tie with 13 unanswered service points to build a 14-1 advantage.  Key in that stretch was the serving of junior setter Hannah Armstrong who had 12 of her team high 28 service points in game one.

Game two was a see-saw battle as Lansing raced to a 9-2 lead but saw the scrappy chiefs run off 8 straight points to take a 10-9 lead. Overall there were 5 ties and 5 lead changes in the game, including back to back ace's by Lansing junior outside hitter Jada Gooch to tie the score for the final time at 16 all. Southern Cayuga ended the game with a 9-4 spurt to tie the match at one win each.

A hard kill by senior co-captain Caroline Prybyl and back to back ace's by Armstrong led a 8-0 run and built a 20-12 Lansing margin. Another Prybyl kill and rocket ace by junior Meghan Judd closed out the ten point winning margin.

The Bobcats asserted themselves quickly in game four bolting to a 8-1 lead and solid play from junior's Shalyn Watson and Judd, the latter who had 2 kills and several deep service points.

"Meghan came off the bench and did a great job, Powers noted, "I was very impressed with her play."
