wrestlingThe Lansing Wrestling Team competed in the 55th annual Windsor Christmas Tournament on December 28th and 29th.  Placing 7th in in the 22 team field, the Bobcats placed 6 of the 7 wrestlers entered in the tournament.

Leading the way, Corey Dake remained undefeated, beating Tyler Hall of Marathon in the 126 pound final. Lansing had a pair of runner-up finishes , Connor Lapresi, lost in over time to 2011 state placer Wes Blanding of Chittenango,and Ryan Todd also came up just short in the 182 pound final, losing 1-2 to another 2011 state qualifier, Keegan Cerwinski of Greene.

Returning State Champ William Koll was upset in the semi-final by Corey Jamison of Hunnington, but came back to finish 3rd, beating Ithaca's Richie Burke. Rounding out Lansing's Place finishers, Dakota White 4th at 195, and finally, Greg Lee, 6th at 106.

On Wednesday 1/4/12, Lansing travelled to Watkins Glen for a IAC league Tri-Meet. The Tioga Tigers beat Lansing 54-36. Lansing won 4 of the 7 contested matches. William Koll, Corey Dake, Connor Lapresi, and Ryan Todd all won by Pin. Greg Lee, and Brandon Gavitt rounded out the Lansing scoring with forfeit wins. Lansing  next wrestled host Watkins Glen losing a tight match 36-39. Of the 9 contested matches, Lansing won 7.

Ryan Todd, Dakota White, William Koll, and Corey Dake all won by Pin. Connor Lapresi recorded a Technical Fall 17-0, Greg Lee got a major decision 11-0, and William Lewis won his match 9-4.

Lansing Travels back to Watkins Glen on Friday and Saturday to compete in The Mike Watson Invitational.
