basketball_girls2012_120The Lansing girls basketball team improved to 14-1 on the year with two road wins at Trumansburg last Friday and at Marathon Tuesday. At Trumansburg the Ladcats won 50-21 with Colby McCartney leading the way with 16 points while sister Shea McCartney added 10 points. Taylor Policay had a team high 9 rebounds in addition to her 5 points, while Carlene Fields had a team high 3 assists and Sabrina Tilton had a team high 5 steals. The team play solid team defense throughout the contest limiting Trumansburg to single digit scoring in three of of four quarters.

At Marathon the Ladcats came out on top of a defensive struggle against the leader of the North Small Division, winning 38-30. Shea McCartney led the way with 14 points and a team high 8 steals, while sister Maura had 7 points including 4 straight free throws down the stretch to seal the victory. Carlene Fields shared leading rebounding with Colby McCartney with 5, with Fields tying Shea with a team high 3 assists for the night.

The Ladycats have their last regular season home game where they will honor their 8 departing Seniors prior to the start of the game with Divisional rival Dryden.
