mailmanIn a June 6 article, the Lansing Star reports that Tompkins legislator Martha Robertson, presumptive Democrat candidate for Congress in the 23rd District against incumbent Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning), voted no on breaking the budget cap, along with four others, claiming that the proposed budget level was too high.

Amazing.  Robertson who spent over 100K on a desk, 17K on painting the shoulders of the road in front of her house green, thousands extra for jail recreation redesign so inmates can have a more comfortable jail experience, is now a defender of fiscal prudence, safely so when her vote wasn't needed to support more spending.  Now she will no doubt campaign in the western southern tier claiming she is a 'fiscal moderate'.

Tompkins residents know what a joke Robertson's new found fiscal concerns must be. She can't run on her record, she can't sell it outside Tompkins, so she is trying to change it.
