Ithaca 19U Shooting Stars reached the finals for 19U level with the visiting Midget A team from the Toronto area (Etobicoke) after defeating the Lady Patriots of Philadelphia, 4-3. In the championship game, Katie Long scored one goal unassisted and shorthanded in the 4-1 defeat. Sarah Eisenhut stopped 27 shots on goal in this game, and a total of 90 in four tournament games. The team lost to Etobicoke 1-0 in preliminary play, and tied the Hamburg Hawks, 2-2. Other goals were scored by Krystalyn Yonkin, Carrie Wilder, Emma Hassen, and two more by Long. Assists were awarded to Lauren Cole, Gabe Klick, Meagan Davenport, Hannah Golay, and Ali Pace.
The Ithaca 12U team lost 0-3 to the Binghamton Blizzard and tied Clifton Park Eagles 1-1. They were also defeated 0-7 by the eventual second place team, Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles. Goalie Caitlin Whittaker stopped about 70 shots in their three games. Anastasia Lyon scored their one goal assisted by Ellie Muckstadt and Anu Pruitt.
Ithaca's 14U team opened against the eventual champion Amherst Knights, falling 7-2. They had a similar tough game vs. the eventual finalist Buffalo Regals, 9-1. They closed out the tournament with a tight game with the Camillus Cougars falling 0-3. Goals were scored by Sophia Hunt assisted by Bridget Derraugh, Derraugh assisted by Risa Ulinski, and Meredith Kirk unassisted. LT Furman and Alex Stagliano split goaltending duties during the tournament stopping about 70 in three games.
On Sunday Dec. 7 morning, the Ithaca 19U girls hockey team won their tournament crossover game against the Lady Patriots of Philadelphia, 3-2, to advance to the championship game scheduled for 3:00 p.m. They will face the Etobicoke Dolphins Midget team from the Toronto area. When the teams played in a first round game, Etobicoke won 1-0.
