The Varsity Baseball team opened their 2009 season with a 7-4 road win at Union Springs on Tuesday. Justin Payne picked up the win, pitching 5 strong innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 6.

Payne helped his own cause with a first inning RBI double, while fellow senior Matt Ford contributed 2 hits and 4 RBI's, including a bases loaded 3 run double in the 5th inning to break the game open.  Junior TJ Cretney had 2 hits and an RBI, while Senior Cody Rohwedder and Junior Nate Martin each had a hit.
