ImageOn the morning Sat. April 4th Matt Scheffler and is band of runners venture out over the snow covered valleys for their first meet, the NY/PA Invitational in Windsor, NY. In spite of the uncooperative weather the Bobcats turned some exciting performances. The boys placed 18th out of 31 teams while the girls placed 6th.

 One of the highlights of the day was Robin Hicks 1st place finish in his heat of the 800 Meter run. Robin led right off the line and left the rest of the pack behind. He held a commanding lead throughout the race finishing well ahead of the second place runner.

For the boys performance of the day included: In the 3200 Meter relay the team comprised of Zach Dwyer, Jon Cleveland, Casey Byrne, Alex Rogers placed 13th with a time of 9:28.50. In the 100 Meter dash Max Rogan finished 7th in his heat with a time of 13.48, while David Bandler placed 6th in his heat with a time of 13.51. In the first heat of 1600 Meter run Jason Ruoff and Nathan Muka place 12th and 13th with a time of 5:45.72 tying them for 39th over all.

In the 400 Meter run Andrew Barber finished 2nd in his heat with a time of 1:14.02 (39th overall) and Casey Byrne placed 7th in his heat with time of 1:01.12 (33rd overall). In the 800 meter run Robin Hicks place 1st in his heat with a time of 2:18.39 (18th overall), while Jon Cleveland placed 5th in his with a time 2:11.70 (12th overall). In the 2nd heat of the 3200 meter run Ed Potter finished 6th with a time 10:32.52 (6th overall) and Josh Barber finished 10th with a time of 10:41.10 (10th overall).

In the 1600 meter relay the team of Casey Byrne, Zach Dwyer, Adrian Boeheim, and Joshua Tull placed 2nd in their heat with a time 4:02.1 placing them 14th overall. In the long jump David Bandler placed 29th with a jump of 15'10.00". In the triple jump Zach Dwyer placed 19th with a jump of 34'08.25" and David Bandler placed 27th with a jump of 32'09.00". In the high jump Zach Dwyer placed 18th with a jump of 5'02.00". In the shot put Jeff Swayze placed 2nd with a throw of 49'08.75". In the discus Jeff Swayze placed 5th with a throw of 119'08.00".

For the girls performance of the day included: In the 400 meter relay the team of Chloe Ryan, Anna Mapes, Kathryn Hornibrook, Lindsay Petry not only place 1st in their heat with a time of 51.64 they place 1st in the finals with a time of 51.85. In the 3200 meter relay the team of Kathryn Shaw, Taylor Jordan, Cassie Palladino, Katy Bland placed 5th with a time of 10:40.47.

 

In the 100 meter hurdles Kathryn Hornibrook 2nd in heat with time of 17.76 and 5th in the finals with a time of 17.42. In the 100 meter dash Chloe Ryan place 1st in her semi-final heat with a time 13.43 and 5th in finals with a time of 13.54. In the 1500 meter run Kathryn Shaw placed 3rd in her heat with a time of 5:29.33 placing her 11th overall. In the 400 meter run Anna Mapes placed 1st in her heat with a time of 1:00.36 placing her 1st overall while Taylor Jordan placed 3rd in her heat with a time 1:06.79 placing her 21st overall. In the 200 meter dash Lindsay Petry placed 1st in her semi-final heat with a time of 28.88 and 7th in the finals with a time of 29.31 while Shaye Weldon(10) 5th in her semi-final heat with a time of 32.27.

 

In the 800 meter run Kristen Beyea place 7th in her heat with a time of 3:07.15 placing her 31st overall. In the 3000 meter run Shanna Swanson placed 4th in her heat with a time of 12:19.90 placing her 15th overall. In the 1600 meter relay the team of Kathryn Shaw, Cassie Palladino, Katy Bland, and Anna Mapes placed 3rd in their heat with a time of 4:20.50 which placed them 3rd overall. In the long jump Kathryn Hornibrook place 10th with a jump of 14'09.00" and Chloe Ryan placed 12th with a jump of 14'00.00".

 

In the triple jump Katy Bland placed 9th with a jump of 31'02.00" and Niki Gain placed 26th with a jump of 28'00.75". In the high jump Niki Gain placed 10th with a jump of 4'06.00" and Brittany Wilcox placed 25th with a jump of 4'00.00". In the shot put Lydia Shea placed 37th with a throw of 22'08.50" and Amber Ryan placed 48th with a throw of 20'05.50". In the discus Lydia Shea placed 26th with a throw of 62'05.50" and Meghan Mapes placed 8th with a throw of 37'01.50".
