In preparation for the state championships, on Friday February 24 at the Section 4 "Select Meet" at the new Ithaca College Athletics and Events Center, Rogan set a new Lansing indoor pole vault record of 14 feet 6 inches.

Head track coach Matt Scheffler said of Max:  "Going into the state meet, he is the top ranked pole vaulter in New York State public schools, and third in the federation.  We have been waiting for him to jump 14 1/2 feet all indoor season.  It's exciting to have a new record jump right before the state meet".

The NYSPHSAA Indoor Track State Championship meet will be held Saturday March 3 at Barton Hall at Cornell University.  The boys' pole vault starts at 2 pm.
